Sonali Phogat stepped into politics in the year 2008 and chose to join BJP. In BJP, she was appointed as the National Vice President of Mahila Morcha. She left anchoring to take up acting roles. She started working in Haryanvi films with actor-turned-politician Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Shergill. She made his OTT debut in 2019 with the web series ‘The Story of Badmashgarh’ directed by Amit Chaudhary.

In the assembly elections of the year 2019, Sonali stood against Kuldeep Bishnoi of Congress from the Adampur area and lost badly.

Apart from all this, Sonali was active on social media platforms like Instagram and kept posting on the day. She had around 9 lakh followers on Instagram.
